In an extraordinary display of talent and dedication, the Year 8 pupils delivered a captivating rendition of the classic musical ‘Aladdin Jr.’ The much-anticipated production, which took place last week, left the audience spellbound with its stunning performances and impressive stagecraft.
Weeks of meticulous planning and preparation preceded the grand event, with the pupils commencing their efforts immediately after the conclusion of their examinations in May. Under the guidance of Head of Complementary Curriculum, Mr Stock, the pupils engaged in read-through sessions, while also crafting exquisite props, and meticulously designing the accompanying scenery. With the unwavering support and expertise of our Head of Art, Mrs Hryschuk, the Year 8’s creative visions were turned into reality.
The true magic, however, unfolded during the intense week leading up to the production. With great enthusiasm and commitment, the pupils devoted countless hours to perfecting their roles, polishing their singing and dancing routines, and synchronising their performances to create an almost seamless production on the Thursday. Their hard work paid off handsomely, as the resulting show mesmerised the audience from start to finish.
The young actors brought the familiar characters of Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie, and others to life. Each member of the cast showcased their talents, drawing applause and admiration for their new found acting abilities. The catchy musical numbers, added an extra layer of vibrancy to the performance, leaving the audience tapping their feet and humming along.
