Durston House School recently hosted an exhilarating Pre-Prep Sports Day at our Castlebar Playing Field, bringing together our Reception to Year 2 children for a day filled with fun and friendly competition. This vibrant event was designed to promote physical activity, teamwork, and school spirit among our youngest athletes.

The day kicked off with an energetic circuit featuring a variety of engaging events. Our young participants showcased their agility by navigating through mini hurdles, demonstrating coordination while throwing bean bags, and showing impressive skills during the hopping and long jump challenges. The use of foam javelins for the javelin event added an exciting twist, allowing our little ones to experience the thrill of track and field in a safe environment.

The agility ladder event was a crowd favourite, testing the children’s speed and coordination, while the high jump brought out their competitive spirit. Each child gave their best in the short race, culminating in the highly anticipated relay race that had everyone on the edge of their seats. The atmosphere was electric, with cheers and encouragement echoing throughout the field.

Parents and teachers gathered to support our young athletes, fostering a sense of community and school pride. Pre-Prep Sports Day at Durston House School not only highlighted the importance of physical fitness but also created lasting memories for our children.
