It has been an extremely busy term for the PE and Games department, with boys competing in various competitions and matches with other schools, and internally. Durston House has been involved in Football, Cross Country, Indoor Athletics and even some Rugby in preparation for the Spring Term.
Throughout the Autumn Term, boys in years 3-8 have been participating in Football Fixtures, Tournaments and House Matches. The main highlight included a 1st Place at the U11 Orley Farm Tournament, and a 2nd Place at our own U11 Durston House Tournament. A lot of fantastic football has been on display, and the final House Matches will be played over the next week.
Durston House boys and Harvington Prep girls from years 5-8 also competed in some Cross Country events, the first at an Ealing Borough Competition, and secondly at the Harrodian School Cross Country Competition. There were some amazing efforts from all who went, but a particular highlight was the first place winners of Leo in the Year 8 race and Sebastian in the Year 6 race. This contributed to Durston House winning the overall competition across all the age groups.
Boys in Year 7 also competed in an indoor athletics event towards the end of term. The Year 7 team consisting of 8 boys managed to win their age group. The Year 8 team will be competing in the same event on Monday this week – good luck to all involved.
