Our School Librarian Mr White has actively sourced a range of literature to support and promote Black History Month across the Pre-Prep, Junior School and Middle & Upper School. A combination of books were purchased that highlight the events and people who shape recent and more distant black history. Mr White has worked hard to provide quality, multicultural literature that allows pupils of all ages to experience other cultures and see themselves reflected in the stories they read, every day, not just during the month of October.
Books have been carefully selected and we are confident that pupils will thoroughly enjoy reading them!
Some of our highlights include:
- Henry’s Free Box by Ellen Levine
- Black Panther, The Young Prince by Ronald L. Smith
- Black and British by David Olusoga
- Black Heroes by Arlisha Norwood
Pupils can see further Black History Month book recommendations on the various curated display boards around the schools.
