“Carpe Diem…Seize the day!”

At Durston House, we seek every possible opportunity to reward pupils and to recognise their successes throughout the academic year. The final week of the summer term saw various events take place including Vertical House Picnics, Prize Giving and Final Assembly.

An occasion for pupils, parents and staff to gather & celebrate the achievements and contributions of pupils. Each prize giving ceremony featured fantastic musical performances from pupils, and at our Middle & Upper School prize giving we welcomed guest speaker Dick Moore. From mastering complex mathematical concepts to delving into the realms of literature and language, from unravelling the mysteries of science to exploring the vast tapestry of history and culture, theology philosophy and ethics our pupils have showcased strong intellectual curiosity and a true passion for intellectual growth.

Huge congratulations to pupils who won awards. We wish all of our pupils, parents and staff a relaxing summer break, and to those heading off for a new chapter in September all the very best.

Carpe diem…seize the day!”

To the pupils leaving Durston House, we bid you farewell with immense pride, knowing that you will continue to shine brightly in whatever path you choose. As you step into the wider world, may you never forget the strong foundation upon which you stand. Cherish the memories you have made here, and let them be a constant source of inspiration and strength as you navigate the exciting journey ahead. Thank you for the immeasurable contributions you have made to Durston House School. You have enriched our community, and your legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who follow in your footsteps.

So to the future, change can be daunting, but it is also the catalyst for growth, innovation, and progress. Our decision to transition co-educational is rooted in our commitment to providing the best possible education and experiences for our pupils.

As we embrace the merge with Harvington Prep School, we recognise the important benefits it brings. Enabling our pupils to develop essential life skills such as effective communication, teamwork, and respect for one another. It creates an inclusive and dynamic atmosphere where pupils can learn from each other’s perspectives, experiences, and unique talents.

The merger opens doors to an array of new opportunities for our boys and girls. From the range of extracurricular activities to enhanced social interactions and a deeper sense of community, our pupils will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate an ever-evolving world.

Durston House will be a place where students of all genders will flourish, thrive, and make lifelong friendships.
